About the Role We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our team and help build Jade, Chime's AI-powered financial assistant. As a senior engineer on this team, you'll work across the full breadth of what it takes to bring an AI product to life — from designing new agent capabilities and conversation experiences to building the eval frameworks, observability, and guardrail systems that ensure Jade is reliable and safe for millions of members. You'll shape how Jade reasons, acts, and improves over time. You'll build member-facing capabilities that help people manage their spending, stay on top of subscriptions, and hit their financial goals. You'll also develop internal tools, dashboards, and backend services for model routing, prompt management, agent orchestration, and evaluation pipelines. The AI landscape evolves rapidly, and so does Jade. You'll need to learn quickly, adapt to shifting priorities, and proactively identify what's needed next — whether that's a new financial capability, a better way to test conversations, or a system to keep quality high as we scale. The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $164,000 and up to $227,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience. In this role, you can expect to Design, build, and scale new capabilities for Jade, Chime's AI-powered financial assistant Develop agent architectures, prompt strategies, and orchestration patterns that shape how Jade reasons and acts Build eval frameworks, observability, and guardrail systems that let the team ship with speed and confidence Partner cross-functionally to solve member pain points and deliver secure, scalable solutions Improve system reliability through performance tuning and architectural enhancements Contribute to technical design and maintain high standards across the codebase through code reviews and mentorship Bring curiosity and initiative to explore how things work and how they can work better To thrive in this role, you have 5+ years of backend software development experience in production environments Proficiency with AI tooling and AI native development Proficiency with Python or comparable frameworks Experience with transactional databases (e.g., Postgres) and caching systems (e.g., Redis) Familiarity with architectural patterns in high-scale systems A strong focus on writing maintainable, well-tested code A drive to learn and dive deep into technical systems Bonus: Experience with agent development, fintech, or startup environments #LI-Onsite #LI-AA1 A little about us At Chime, we believe that everyone can achieve financial progress.
