The application window is expected to close on: 10/24/2026 Meet the Team We are currently looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join the Intersight SRE team as part of Cisco's Data Center Compute portfolio. Cisco Intersight is a cloud and on-premise based system management platform for Cisco UCS (Unified Computing System), and other Data Center products. It provides actionable intelligent level of management that enables IT organizations to analyze, simplify and automate their environments. It is driven by analytics and machine learning to provide actionable intelligence for IT operations management. Intersight Virtual Appliance is the on-premises solution that runs the Intersight capabilities in a Virtual Appliance. As a Site Reliability Engineer on the Intersight team, you will help build and operate highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure. You will work across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, automation, observability, CI/CD, and production reliability while partnering closely with software engineering, security, and product teams. You will solve complex reliability problems, automate operational work, and help improve the availability, scalability, security, and efficiency of Intersight. You should be comfortable solving complex technical problems, learning new technologies, and working independently in a fast-paced environment. You should be passionate about reliability, automation, quality, and customer experience and be comfortable working in collaborative, self-organizing teams. Responsibilities Include: Design, build, automate, and operate reliable cloud infrastructure supporting Intersight at scale. Improve service reliability through monitoring, observability, automation, capacity management, and SRE best practices. Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Build automation and tooling using Python, Go, Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD technologies to reduce operational toil. Collaborate with software engineering, security, and platform teams to improve scalability, availability, security, and operational efficiency. Participate in production operations, releases, and on-call responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s +5 years of related experience, or Master’s +3 years of related experience or PhD +0 year of related experience. Experience designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and production-ready solutions . Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS , and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Ansible. Experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, networking, security, and CI/CD . Experience with observability and monitoring platforms, including metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerting. Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar programming languages , with a strong understanding of software development principles. Preferred Qualifications Experience building and operating highly available cloud platforms and infrastructure at scale. Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Passion for learning and applying new technologies to deliver customer impact. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts and influence across diverse teams. Experience with cloud, infrastructure, or application security and security best practices is a plus. Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers is a plus. Relevant certifications such as CKA, CKAD, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or equivalent cloud/security certifications. Why Cisco?
