ABOUT THE ROLE This is a full-time Automation Engineer role sitting within the Operations team at a fast-growing AI-powered communications startup. You will own the entire internal tech stack, building the tools and workflows that eliminate repetitive work across Support, Sales, Customer Success, and Ops. Every manual task is treated as a bug to fix, and you ship fast with direct feedback from end users. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build internal tools and services using n8n, HubSpot, and custom code to automate workflows across all teams. - Identify bottlenecks and automation opportunities by analyzing internal processes and collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders. - Develop AI-powered agents optimized for the DACH market, leveraging LLMs and modern tooling. - Design and maintain internal platforms that Support, Operations, Sales, and Customer Success rely on daily. - Own the full lifecycle of internal infrastructure, from conception through deployment and ongoing iteration. - Ship continuously with minimal process overhead. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems, APIs, or backend services. - Extensive hands-on experience with n8n for workflow automation and integration development. - Strong fundamentals in code, APIs, data models, and debugging, with sound judgment on when to code versus use no-code tooling. - Proven experience integrating APIs and automating manual processes at scale across multiple SaaS platforms. - Experience with HubSpot API or CRM integrations. - Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, AI agents, or similar AI tools in production workflows. - Comfort with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code, or a strong eagerness to adopt them. - Native German proficiency, required for DACH-focused agent optimization and team collaboration, alongside strong English. - High ownership mentality, bias toward speed and iteration, and a genuine growth mindset. - Bonus: experience with other automation platforms (Make, Zapier), conversational or voice AI agents, or operations and support automation. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary range: 70,000 to 95,000 EUR annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. LOCATION Remote, based in Austria (primary location: Vienna). Candidates must be eligible to work in Austria without sponsorship.
