Overview The Systems and Platform Architecture team is looking for a Lead Platform Architect to design and provide oversight through all stages of the development life cycle from bid, concept through architecture, design, build, test and delivery into production. Role Typically, the role will require the holder to: • Produce High Level Designs for Platform infrastructure solutions. • Maintain the technology roadmap for Platform / Unix Solutions in line with end of support dates. • Work closely with cross functional teams including Delivery, Engineering and Operations. • Ensure that new solutions conform to policies and standards and meet defined non-functional requirements for performance, scalability, availability, security and manageability. • Identify, assess and communicate technical risks to the Business and Operations. • Evaluate products for project and future usage and take responsibility for trialling new technologies. All About You Essential: • Overall 8-12 years of career experience in a similar role / technology • Indepth knowledge of Linux Operating Systems (Oracle Linux / RHEL) • Indepth knowledge of Virtualisation Technologies ( OVM, KVM, OLVM) • Indepth knowledge of VMWare (ESX) • Significant experience in a demanding, high availability environment • Proven experience of delivering complex technical designs and architectures • Ability to present complex technical information to both a technical and non-technical audience. • Flexibility to take on new products, services, strategies and ways of working. • A clear understanding of how non-functional requirements such as performance and availability are delivered by a technology solution. Desirable: • Solaris 11 • Containers (K8S) • VMWare (vSAN, vROPs, NSX) • IT Security experience • HSM knowledge (Entrust NShield / XC, Thales PayShield) The ideal candidate for this position should: • Continually look at the market and competition to identify trends and new technologies that will benefit the company. • Identify areas for continuous improvement and provide thoughtful and sustainable solutions. • Be skilled at explaining technical problems succinctly and clearly. • Be able to communicate your vision and roadmap effectively to a wide variety of stakeholders. • Always look for potential solutions to solve problems Corporate Security Responsibility Every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security.
