About Moloco: Moloco is an AI-native performance advertising company, bringing the power of AI advertising to the open internet. Founded in 2013 by machine learning engineers who had built AI advertising systems inside the world's largest technology companies, Moloco began from a shared mission: to build that same engine for the open internet. Today, Moloco is one company with two businesses, built on the same compound AI system. Moloco Ads is our AI-native performance advertising platform, helping mobile app marketers acquire, retain, and re-engage high-value users across the open internet. Moloco Commerce Media is our AI-native retail media platform, enabling retailers and marketplaces to turn their platforms into thriving ad businesses. Both are powered by CARA (Compound Ad Recommendation Architecture) , the AI system behind every Moloco product. At Moloco, we bring together those who've already solved hard problems and those with the drive to. Here, we work on some of the complex problems in AI advertising, at a scale and level of sophistication very few companies can offer. Come build what's next. The Impact You'll Be Contributing to Moloco: The Common Infrastructure team builds the platforms and infrastructure that form the foundation of Moloco Ads. We build developer experience, cloud infrastructure and shared platforms to enable other engineers to deliver software efficiently. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll work on foundational problems that affect many teams across the company. You'll design and build reliable, scalable, secure, and easy-to-use systems, turning common infrastructure needs into reusable platforms, tooling, and automation. Your work will improve engineering velocity and help teams build and deploy services (and increasingly AI workloads) without each team having to solve the same infrastructure problems independently. The Opportunity: You'll work across platform engineering, developer experience, cloud and AI infrastructure, and security and compliance. You’ll own complex infrastructure problems end to end: from understanding what engineering teams need, to designing and building robust systems, to helping teams adopt and use them effectively. You’ll have opportunities to: Build and extend platforms and developer tooling that provide common capabilities for service development and deployment. Improve the scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency of our infrastructure. Lead infrastructure projects and collaborate with engineers across Moloco to deliver durable solutions. Help shape our approach to AI infrastructure, including enabling teams to build, deploy, and host AI workloads in a safe, compliant, and cost-effective manner. Establish safe defaults, guardrails, and best practices across the company so teams can move quickly without taking on unnecessary risk. Mentor other engineers and raise the quality of software design and implementation across the team. How Do I Know if the Role is Right For Me? Software Engineering Foundation BS in Computer Science or related fields. 5+ years of hands-on software development experience. Strong software development skills and fluency in at least one modern programming language, such as Go, Java, Rust, or Python. Systems and Technical Depth Experience designing and building large-scale, low-latency, highly reliable systems. Strong system design skills, with experience taking projects from requirements through design, implementation, launch, adoption and production operation. Experience working with cloud platforms and cloud-native technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Airflow, Dataflow, Spark, Redis, BigTable, etc.) Experience using software delivery and developer tools (e.g. CI/CD systems, GitHub, Jenkins, or AI-assisted development tools, etc.) Ownership and Collaboration Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound engineering tradeoffs in ambiguous situations. Ability to leverage AI-assisted development tools to increase productivity while independently validating their outputs and owning the resulting design, implementation, testing, and security decisions. Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with engineers and stakeholders across teams. Experience leading projects through influence while remaining hands-on in the technical work. Preferred Skills: Experience building foundational platforms, developer infrastructure, or highly reusable shared services. Experience improving developer productivity through platform design, tooling, automation, or adoption. Experience with infrastructure observability, performance optimization, or cost efficiency. Experience working in AI infrastructure, such as agent identities, MCP servers, LLM gateways, model hosting, or workload orchestration. Experience enabling other teams to build, deploy, and operate AI workloads in a safe, compliant, reliable, and cost-efficient way. Familiarity with security, privacy, access control, data governance, or compliance considerations for shared infrastructure and AI systems. Compensation & Benefits U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and well-being benefits and perks.
