Job Summary: As a member of the Reporting & Data Platform team, you will build and operate large-scale distributed systems that power critical business reporting, analytics, and decision-making across PayPal. You will work on highly scalable Java, Spark, and BigQuery-based platforms that process billions of records daily while supporting Finance, Product, Risk, Compliance, and Engineering organizations. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to PayPal's cloud modernization journey as we transition reporting platforms toward Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and next-generation data architectures. Job Description: Essential Responsibilities: Implements tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), receiving structure and oversight from more experienced staff Follows well-established internal conventions and standard procedures Understands internal standards & processes an applies them to make technical decisions Collaborates with peers, manager, and project lead to gain understanding of tasks and review solutions May contribute to code & design reviews Minimum Qualifications: 1+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience. This role provides exposure to large-scale distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, data engineering, and platform modernization initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field At least 4-years of software engineering experience Strong programming expertise in Java Hands-on experience with Apache Spark Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets Good understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented Design, and Distributed Systems Experience developing REST APIs and microservices Experience working in Linux environments Experience with BigQuery, GCP services (GCS, Dataproc, Pub/Sub) and Scala Experience building reporting, analytics, or data platform solutions Experience with cloud migration and modernization projects Subsidiary: PayPal Travel Percent: 0 PayPal does not charge candidates any fees for courses, applications, resume reviews, interviews, background checks, or onboarding.
