THE OPPORTUNITY We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Enterprise Foundation team within Superhuman Docs. This is an opportunity to shape the capabilities that make Docs work for our largest and most sophisticated customers — helping organizations securely adopt, manage, and scale Superhuman Docs across teams. Superhuman Docs is where teams and AI get their best work done together. It brings documents, data, workflows, project management, and knowledge into one flexible collaborative surface. As more companies adopt Docs across larger teams and increasingly business-critical workflows, they need powerful enterprise capabilities that give administrators control while keeping the product simple and intuitive for end users. The Enterprise Foundation team builds the B2B foundations that enable that growth. The team owns capabilities that help enterprise customers manage how their organizations use Docs — from administration, permissions, access, and sharing controls to organization-level configuration, governance, and other foundational experiences required by large businesses. The team’s work spans both deep platform problems and highly visible customer-facing features, often unlocking adoption or expansion with strategic enterprise customers. You’ll lead a team of engineers working at the intersection of product, platform, and enterprise infrastructure. You’ll partner closely with Product, Design, Security, Customer-facing teams, and other engineering groups to understand complex enterprise needs, translate them into scalable product capabilities, and ensure that Docs remains flexible for individual users while meeting the requirements of large organizations. As an Engineering Manager on the Enterprise Foundation team, you will: - Lead and grow a team of engineers, providing mentorship, career development, and fostering a high-performance engineering culture. - Own the technical direction and execution of foundational enterprise capabilities within Superhuman Docs. - Partner closely with Product and Design to translate complex B2B customer needs into simple, scalable product experiences. - Build systems and product foundations that support areas such as administration, permissions, access controls, sharing, governance, and organization-level configuration. - Work with customer-facing teams and strategic enterprise customers to understand recurring needs and identify opportunities to solve them systematically rather than through one-off solutions. - Collaborate with Security, Infrastructure, and other platform teams to ensure enterprise capabilities meet high standards for reliability, scalability, privacy, and security. - Drive architecture and engineering decisions that allow enterprise functionality to scale across increasingly large and complex organizations. - Balance urgent customer needs with foundational investments, delivering near-term enterprise value while building reusable systems that accelerate future development. - Create strong execution practices that enable the team to deliver predictable, high-quality outcomes in an environment where priorities can evolve quickly. - Influence the broader product and technical strategy for how Superhuman Docs serves enterprise customers as adoption grows. QUALIFICATIONS - Has 3+ years of engineering management experience leading teams of engineers, with a track record of hiring, developing, and retaining strong talent. - Has strong technical depth and can independently reason about architecture, system design, engineering tradeoffs, and the complexity of work their team owns. - Has experience building B2B or enterprise software, ideally involving areas such as permissions, identity and access, administration, governance, collaboration, security, or organization-level product capabilities. - Has shipped and operated customer-facing systems at scale where reliability, correctness, and backward compatibility matter. - Demonstrates strong product judgment and can turn complex enterprise requirements into solutions that are both scalable and intuitive. - Has experience balancing the needs of strategic customers with building reusable platform capabilities that benefit the broader customer base. - Can partner effectively with Product, Design, Security, Customer Success, Sales, and other engineering teams. - Shows a track record of operating in ambiguity — defining strategy, making thoughtful tradeoffs, and driving execution in fast-moving product areas. - Sets a high engineering bar while empowering senior engineers and technical leads to own meaningful technical decisions. - Communicates clearly, builds strong relationships, and can influence stakeholders across functions and levels of the organization. - Is energized by building the foundations that allow a product loved by individuals and small teams to become indispensable to large organizations. - Has a demonstrated ability to work independently wit
