About SBOX SBOX is an enterprise test automation platform that enables organizations to run browser and mobile automation at scale within their own environment. The platform supports Selenium, Playwright and Appium and includes capabilities around test execution, browser/device management, reporting, integrations and AI-powered quality capabilities. We are continuing to evolve SBOX into a more AI-native quality engineering platform, making reliability, automation intelligence and actionable quality insights an important part of the product. The Opportunity We are looking for a SDET / Quality Engineer who wants to play a key role in building the next generation of quality engineering for SBOX. As our product and engineering velocity grow, we want to make quality an integral part of how we build and release software — not something that happens only at the end of the development cycle. You will help us build stronger automation, improve regression confidence, identify quality risks earlier and create better ways of understanding and resolving failures. This is a high-ownership engineering role. You will have the freedom to identify opportunities, propose solutions and take them from idea to implementation. You won't just be executing predefined test cases — you'll help shape how quality engineering works at SBOX. What You'll Work On Automation & Quality Engineering ● Design, build and maintain robust automation for critical SBOX workflows. ● Develop automation using Playwright, Appium and Selenium. ● Translate product requirements, user stories and customer workflows into meaningful automated scenarios. ● Build reusable automation components and frameworks that scale with the product. ● Continuously improve regression coverage and test reliability. Test Execution & Failure Analysis ● Build and maintain automated workflows that run reliably in CI and unattended environments. ● Work with platforms such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, LambdaTest or equivalent. ● Analyze test results and investigate failures across application, automation, infrastructure and environment. ● Debug failures deeply and drive them through to resolution. ● Identify and eliminate flaky tests and recurring sources of instability. Quality Strategy ● Partner with engineers and product managers early in the development lifecycle. ● Help define the right testing strategy for new features and major product initiatives. ● Identify edge cases, integration risks and potential regression areas. ● Contribute to release-readiness decisions using meaningful quality signals. ● Continuously improve our automation architecture, testing practices and tooling. Test Management & Defect Management ● Create and maintain test cases, workflows and regression suites. ● Track execution progress and manage defects through their lifecycle. ● Participate in defect triaging and collaborate with Engineering and Product teams. ● Improve visibility into automation health, product quality and release confidence. What We're Looking For Must Have ● Strong experience in SDET, QA Automation or Quality Engineering. ● Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and Appium ● Experience with Real-device/mobile testing ● Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript or another programming language. ● Hands-on experience with platforms such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, LambdaTest or equivalent. ● Experience building or maintaining automation frameworks. ● Experience converting requirements and user stories into automated test scenarios. ● Experience running automation in unattended/CI environments. ● Strong debugging, problem-solving and failure-analysis skills. ● Experience with test management, defect tracking and triaging. ● Experience working in a startup, scale-up or lean engineering environment. ● Strong sense of ownership and ability to execute independently. ● Experience with AI testing and quality engineering, AI-assisted coding tools Nice to Have ● API testing and automation ● Accessibility testing ● Visual regression testing ● Performance/load testing ● Docker and Kubernetes ● CI/CD platforms ● Enterprise software and security-focused environments How We Work We are a small, experienced and highly collaborative engineering team.
