ABOUT THE ROLE This is a core founding engineering role at an early-stage AI fintech company building automation tooling for private market operations. You'll work side by side with the founding team and customers to architect and ship the platform from the ground up — taking on significant ownership across product, engineering, and customer collaboration from day one. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build core product components including data capture pipelines, reconciliation workflows, and journal entry generation integrated with existing ERPs. - Design and develop AI-native agentic systems that connect to inboxes, web portals, bank feeds, and file storage to automate fund accounting operations. - Work directly with customers and design partners to gather requirements, shape the product roadmap, and communicate engineering trade-offs. - Develop and maintain production-grade backend APIs and services underpinning the platform's operational workflows. - Integrate and operate large language models and autonomous agent systems in a production environment. - Help attract and evaluate exceptional engineering talent as the team grows. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience. - Hands-on experience building or operating AI-native infrastructure — particularly with LLMs and agentic/autonomous systems — in production. - Strong backend development skills with a track record of building reliable, scalable APIs and services. - Domain knowledge in private markets fund accounting, reporting, reconciliation, or treasury workflows. - Experience building or maintaining financial operations tooling in a fintech or fund services context. - Comfortable operating with high ownership and ambiguity in a small founding team, with proactive communication and a bias for action. - Experience engaging directly with customers or design partners to define requirements and drive product direction. - Based in or willing to relocate to Berlin, Germany; eligible to work in Germany (visa sponsorship available). COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary range: €70,000 – €110,000 per year. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates. LOCATION On-site in Berlin, Germany.
