ABOUT THE ROLE This is a hands-on, high-ownership engineering role at an early-stage AI startup building sales automation software for distributors and manufacturers. You'll work across the full stack to design and ship AI-powered systems that are core to the product, collaborating closely with a small, product-focused engineering team where your contributions have direct business impact. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own the architecture and design of AI systems end-to-end. - Collaborate with fellow engineers across the full stack to deliver complex features. - Build data pipelines to process large-scale unstructured data efficiently. - Deploy and manage software in cloud environments. - Make the backend scalable, stable, and performant. - Develop reusable components and well-structured API layers. - Write clean, maintainable code backed by sensible testing strategies. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Proficiency building end-to-end AI-powered web applications with Next.js/React (frontend) and Python (backend). - Strong experience with TypeScript in frontend development. - Proficiency with PostgreSQL and relational data modeling. - Experience designing and implementing scalable RESTful APIs for production web applications. - Hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines for large-scale unstructured data. - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern CI/CD practices. - Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and deployment. - Experience with ML/NLP technologies including embeddings, vector databases, and RLHF, with production deployment experience. - Experience with ML model serving and inference pipelines in production environments. - A product-minded mindset with a track record of shipping complex web applications. - Ability to own architecture and design decisions with clear documentation and high code quality standards. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary range: €80,000 – €130,000 per year. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. LOCATION On-site in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.
