About Scribe Scribe https://scribe.com is where exceptional people come to do the best work of their careers. More than 94% of the Fortune 500 use Scribe to own their specialized intelligence: the unique way their teams work, decide, and get things done. Our Specialized Intelligence platform automatically captures how work happens and turns it into a living asset for people and AI agents. We're growing fast. Since our founding in 2019, we've reached 7 million users across 600,000 businesses. Based in San Francisco, we're a LinkedIn Top Startup, valued at over $1B, and backed by leading investors. Join us in our mission to transform how people work. About the role Scribe's desktop apps and browser extensions capture the workflows behind our products. As our customers deploy Scribe across larger and more complex environments, reliable capture becomes essential to their success. We're looking for a QA Engineering Manager to lead our QA team and help enterprise customers roll out Workflow Mapping, the foundation for our next-gen product line, with confidence. You'll develop the team, set our QA roadmap, and be a trusted voice on quality and release readiness across engineering and customer-facing teams. You'll manage an existing, distributed team of QA engineers and shape how we test across Mac, Windows, Chrome, and Edge. Your work will span release validation, customer-environment reproduction, and the processes that help Engineering, Product, Design, and Customer Success deliver reliable deployments together. This role calls for an experienced manager who can set direction, coach others, and get into the technical details when needed. You'll work directly with customers and their IT teams when an issue calls for it, then turn what you learn into repeatable testing and better rollout practices. What you'll do - Lead and develop the team. Coach QA engineers, set clear expectations, give actionable feedback, and support their performance and career growth. - Own the QA roadmap. Prioritize testing and tooling around customer impact, balancing release speed with reliability. - Lead quality through enterprise rollouts. Partner with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to define readiness, surface risks early, and navigate deployment issues. - Build repeatable reproduction capabilities. Help the team recreate customer environments, isolate failures, validate fixes, and prevent regressions. - Improve how we test. Combine exploratory testing, targeted automation, and engineering-owned coverage to address risks in performance, session persistence, authentication, and capture correctness. - Make quality understandable. Communicate evidence, uncertainty, and next steps clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders, including customers. What we're looking for - You've managed QA engineers and driven meaningful improvements in quality at a high-growth technology company. - You have a strong record of coaching people, managing performance, and building a team that takes ownership. - You've recreated customer environments to reproduce difficult issues and verify fixes before release. - You can turn product and customer risks into a practical QA strategy, with clear priorities and evidence of results. - You're comfortable leading conversations outside engineering, aligning stakeholders, and explaining technical trade-offs to customers. - You bring sound technical judgment, stay close to the work, and help others solve problems independently. - You handle ambiguity calmly and know when to investigate further, escalate a risk, or move a release forward. - Nice to have: Experience with desktop apps, browser extensions, enterprise device management, security software, or authentication is especially relevant. Experience leading a distributed team is also valuable. Why you'll love working here - Hard, open problems. Nobody hands you a finished spec. You'll decide what to build with your PM and designer, then own how it performs. - The reach of a unicorn, the headcount of a startup. We went from $1M to $100M ARR in under four years, with fewer than 200 people. That means more pie than people: scope grows with your impact. Customers like T-Mobile, LinkedIn, HubSpot, New York Life and Northern Trust run on Scribe, so what you own reaches some of the biggest names in business. - Smart is the floor. Kind is the bar. Low ego, high standards. We compete as a collective and love to see each other win, and One Team, One Dream is one of the most shouted-out values in #values. Compensation & location Fully remote. Open to candidates anywhere in the U.S. All full-time employees receive equity in Scribe. Final offers depend on experience and scope. Benefits - Healthcare Coverage – Comprehensive health, dental, and vision plans, including two $0/month medical plan options for employees - Equity – Ownership in what we're building - 401(k) Plan – through Vestwell - Flex Benefit – $500/year for home office equipment, productivity tools, learning & development or fitness/wellness - Commuter Benefits – $100/month for SF based employees - PTO – Flexible paid time off and company holidays - Parental Leave – Paid leave to support growing families - Wellness & Family Support – Free Talkspace membership, One Medical access (location-dependent), and Kindbody discounts for family planning At Scribe, we celebrate our differences and are committed to creating a workplace where all employees feel supported and empowered to do their best work.
