Founding Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE Join a small engineering team at an early-stage healthtech education company, working directly with the founders. You will help support and improve AI-powered clinical conversation simulations used by students and educators, then take on more full-stack product development as you automate support workflows. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own technical customer support across simulation, learning management, field experience, and compliance tools, primarily through email, with some customer calls and other support work. - Diagnose and resolve issues reported by students, educators, and university administrators, taking on more complex cases as you ramp up. - Build automations and internal tools to reduce support needs and help the team scale. - Ship full-stack features to production as you transition into more product engineering work. - Contribute to product decisions, system architecture, engineering culture, and AI agent workflows. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 0 to 4 years of experience as a full-stack engineer, forward-deployed engineer, or in a similar role. - Experience as a founder, on a founding team, or at an early-stage startup, with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-moving environment. - Full-stack development experience and an interest in AI agents, large language models, and automation. - Experience in EdTech or working with universities is helpful. - Willingness to work in person five days per week in New York City. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base salary is $160,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available. LOCATION On-site in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.
