Senior Software Engineer, Distributed Systems (Core)

ABOUT THE ROLE Join the Core team as a senior backend engineer responsible for the distributed systems behind a data activation platform. You will build and scale infrastructure that moves customer data reliably across cloud regions and supports demanding performance and data residency needs. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own projects from technical design through production delivery. - Build and optimize data syncing systems that process terabytes of data daily. - Develop streaming capabilities for real-time data from webhooks and message queues. - Find performance bottlenecks and design systems that can support significant growth. - Improve low-latency APIs and build caching layers to meet performance goals. - Extend multi-cloud and multi-region infrastructure to support global data residency requirements. - Work with customers on scaling challenges and contribute to system reliability. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 7 or more years of backend software engineering experience, with deep distributed systems expertise. - Experience building event collection, data streaming, or data syncing systems for critical services, ideally at terabyte scale. - Production experience with Kafka, SQL databases, Kubernetes, and Docker. - Strong systems design fundamentals and familiarity with the internals of streaming and batch frameworks such as Spark and Flink. - A track record of owning systems through substantial growth, ideally in a high-velocity startup environment. - Strong computer science fundamentals, communication skills, and ability to learn quickly. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base salary: $180,000 to $320,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available. LOCATION Remote. Primary location: United States.
